Fundraiser Dinner for Solid Ground- December 1st, 6:00
Please join us around the table for an evening in support of Solid Ground, an organization that we are very passionate about. We will gather at Light Sleeper Restaurant for a nourishing family style meal cooked over a fire by our own Stephanie Eburah and Ashley Morford-Haines of Windward Adventures to raise money for this incredibly important non-profit that is building community to end poverty. The menu will be driven by local, seasonal products and Light Sleeper will have a selection of their natural wines available for purchase. Tickets will include food, and gratuity and all proceeds will go directly to Solid Ground.
Food is a human right. Solid Ground is working to make it equitable.
At Solid Ground, we know hunger isn’t caused by a lack of food—it’s rooted in deeply embedded racial and economic inequities in the food system. Our Food Access & Education programs confront these systemic barriers by partnering with communities to cultivate food justice and health equity.
We empower individuals and families—especially those with low incomes—with the skills to grow, buy, cook, and share nutritious food. Our hands-on classes in schools and neighborhoods build confidence in the kitchen, teach smart budgeting, and promote lifelong wellness. Led by skilled coordinators and supported by volunteers, each class fosters connection through shared learning and shared meals.
Since 1996, our ¾-acre Giving Garden at historic Marra Farm has produced thousands of pounds of organic produce annually. Grown with and for the South Park community, every harvest supports local food banks, meal programs, and health clinics.
We also lead the Seattle Food Committee, a coalition of 27 food banks. From equity-focused training to logistical and financial support, we help ensure dignified, culturally relevant service across Seattle. Each year, we deliver over 7 million pounds of essential food to meet rising needs—while pushing for systemic change.
Together, we’re transforming food access—from daily struggle to strength, dignity, and community.
